To configure password caching: From Menu, select Global Properties. Have you tried using an emulated Intel e1000 nic, instead of the standard VMware Accellerated AMD nic? I take it that you are using Workstation 6.5 on RHEL 5? It looks like there are some known issues with Checkpoint SecuRemote and the VMware networking subsystem.
